Rutland is England’s smallest and some might say its prettiest county. One thing is for certain, Rutland lives up to its motto, Multum in Parvo or ‘much in little’. Rutland is said to be the new Cotswold’s but really it is better than that.
The picture postcard county capital of Oakham is home to a select 10,000 people but offers a great range of things to do and see and some incredible local craft shops, cafes, bakers and butchers (count me in for original pork pies and Stilton cheese) whilst gorgeous Uppingham is even smaller but renowned for its antiques and galleries.
Of course you can’t come to Rutland and notice the beautiful countryside all around. We also have Rutland Water, the largest man-made lake in the U.K.& one of the biggest in Europe. A haven for wildlife and nature lovers alike.
