If one great country estate is not enough for you, then we can also travel onwards to Waddesdon Manor now owned by The National Trust but formerly one of the many homes of the wealthy Rothschild family, and indeed, they still take a keen interest in the running of the estate.
The house is built in the style of a Renaissance Chateau and is a marvel to behold with a particularly interesting wine cellar with wines stocked from the Rothschilds estates. The gardens are ornate with statues and fountains at every turn, and the Manor was deliberately built on a hill-top affording wonderful views of the countryside.
