Terms & Conditions

These Booking Conditions set out clearly the responsibilities which we (Ye Olde England Tours) have to you, and which you in turn have to us, when a contract is made between us.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before making a booking. By making a booking with Ye Olde England Tours, you confirm that you accept these terms. All matters concerning this agreement shall be subject to English Law.

1. Booking & Payment

  1. A deposit of 50% is required when a booking is made.
  2. The balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the date of the tour, or the booking may not be held open. If you pay by PayPal, we will send a PayPal email request to you on the appropriate dates. Should a booking be made within 30 days of the tour, 100% payment will be required.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

  1. Any cancellation made by the customer less than 30 days before the tour will result in the deposit not being refunded. Any cancellation made less than 14 days before the tour will result in no refund being made, though we will make every effort to reschedule with you. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Please note we are unable to refund any portion of the deposit used to purchase tickets in preparation for a tour.
  2. We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate holiday insurance to cover your costs should illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances cause you or other members of your party to cancel or curtail your booked tours.
  3. Should Ye Olde England Tours be unable to meet our obligation to you after a tour has been booked, the following options will be available: (a) alternative dates for your tour(s); (b) alternative tour(s); or (c) cancellation of your booking with a full refund. No other claims for compensation will be considered.

3. On the Day of Your Tour

  1. It is the customer’s responsibility to be at the agreed pick-up point at the agreed time, and we cannot be held responsible for any loss or expense suffered if they are not. We reserve the right to refuse a booking or terminate a client’s tour in the event of unreasonable conduct. If you are prevented from travelling or continuing your tour due to such termination, our responsibility for your tour ceases and cancellation charges will apply.
  2. All tours are based on the suggested itineraries shown on the website or tailored to meet your requirements. We reserve the right to make changes to routes where necessary. Any changes to the itinerary before or during your tour will be made at the sole discretion of the driver/guide.
  3. We will do our best to satisfy any special requests you may have for items to be included in a booked tour.
  4. All trips will go ahead whatever the weather. However, in the event of unforeseen or extreme conditions forcing road or attraction closures, alternative visits may be necessary, or in extreme circumstances trips may be cancelled.

4. Guests & Suitability

  1. Only children aged 12 years or above, with a height of 135cm or taller, accompanied by responsible adults, may tour by car with Ye Olde England Tours. There is no lower age or height limits for walking tours.
  2. Please note that due to the nature of some of our tours and vehicles, we may be unable to offer all our normal tours to guests using wheelchairs. However, we will make every effort to accommodate where advance booking can be made.
  3. Although generally all walking will be on flat terrain, it is largely the responsibility of each guest to look after their own well-being and to avoid activities that might cause injury to themselves or others, or damage to public or private property. Certain activities — such as climbing castle walls — may be unsuitable for older guests or those with medical conditions. If in doubt, please enquire at the time of booking.

5. Accommodation

  1. We can provide suggestions for your hotel or accommodation. You will be responsible for all bookings and accommodation payments, or we can make the bookings on your behalf for a 5% charge.

6. Liability & Entry Fees

  1. We have no liability for loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, or direct or consequential loss, however caused. We are not responsible for any personal injury or losses you may suffer while travelling or visiting any place of interest with Ye Olde England Tours, or any activity not directly provided by Ye Olde England Tours.
  2. Ye Olde England Tours are not responsible for any additional costs or charges for entry to attractions, or any purchases and services, except those explicitly stated at the time of booking.
