Cambridge β€” one of the most beautiful and extraordinary cities in the world

Under an Hour from London

History seeps out of every stone β€” and the stories are extraordinary

Cambridge is one of the great cities of the world β€” and under an hour from London King’s Cross by train, which makes it one of the very best day trips you can make from the capital. I meet you at Cambridge Station, ready to show you the most extraordinary university city on earth (I can meet at Kings Criss if needed).

Scientists, writers, mathematicians and philosophers β€” the list of people who studied in these buildings and went on to change the world is almost incomprehensible. Walking from one glorious college to another, through ancient courtyards and into ornate chapels, the full weight of what has happened here begins to sink in. And the chocolatiers and confectioners here? Simply divine.

    1. It does, doesn’t it. I went there on a really sunny mid-winter morning and we could see it from miles and miles away. It just looks spectacular and the inside is equally impressive. Incredible how they built it so long ago.
