Everything in the 3-Hour Tour — Plus
The Real London — All of It
West End to the City — two thousand years of London in one day
The 5-hour tour begins exactly as the 3-hour version does — Big Ben, Westminster, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, the West End and Buckingham Palace. But then, instead of finishing, we jump on the tube to arrive in the oldest part of London: the City, the ancient Roman core, the real deal.
Most visitors to London spend their entire trip in Westminster or the West End and think they’ve seen it. But the City of London — the Roman city, the medieval city, the city that burned in 1666 and rose again — is where London’s deepest stories are told. And the South Bank, stretching from the Tate Modern to Tower Bridge, is one of the great walking routes in the world.

The South Bank & the City
The oldest part of London — and still the most fascinating
From the Globe Theatre we continue through Bankside — the Clink prison, the ruined Bishop’s Palace — before emerging at Southwark Cathedral and the spectacular Borough Market. Then London Bridge, and a choice of routes: the South Bank for HMS Belfast, or the North Bank for the Monument to the Great Fire, the extraordinary Leadenhall Market and the hauntingly beautiful ruin of St Dunstan in the East — where film and TV crews are often to be found.
Both routes converge at Tower Bridge — one of the most recognised structures in the world — and the Traitor’s Gate, where the tour finishes. The Tower of London is right there for those who want to go inside after we finish.
The 3-hour version covers Westminster, Whitehall, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, the West End and Buckingham Palace — a circular walk starting and finishing at Big Ben. Perfect if you have half a day or want a focused introduction to London’s most iconic sights.
