Seeing London in the greatest way!
What a great tour with Stephen! We had a mixed walking and pub tour and had the most memorable time. Stephen had so many fun facts, stories, and pride about his country. We talked the rest of the day about how much he shared. The pubs stops were a great addition to a traditional tour and we even got the bonus of seeing prison cells in the basement of one of our pubs. Great tour of most the Roman sites in London!!
Very comprehensive tour of most of the Roman ruin sites in London. Several are not even in the guidebooks. Also, during our walks from site to site my guide talked about general London history, and much of that was little known facts/information. Day trip to Chartwell
This was a private tour to Chartwell, so more expensive than tours that include others. It was the easiest way to get there without catching lots of buses. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me and am glad I went. Martin was a very knowledgeable guide and a safe driver.

Amazing tour with a guide we would use again!
Our tour around Lincoln with Stephen was wonderful. He was waiting for us at the train station upon our arrival ready to go. Stephen communicated with us every step of the way before our tour about options for travel to Lincoln and when and where he would meet us. Even down to what he was wearing so we could find him easily. He knew the route we would be taking and handled all of the required tickets for entry. The tickets were included in his tour fee. He moved at our pace when it came to walking up Steep Hill in Lincoln and allowed us to sit and rest as needed along to long days walk. When I watched videos of Lincoln online before going to the UK there was so much we wanted to see. Stephen’s tour included all of those things. We did not ask for our tour to be customized but I’m sure Stephen would go out of his way to be sure you saw everything you wanted to see. The best and most interesting tour we’ve ever done. Stephen and Kevin are both super nice and full of so much history! We did the plague tour in London and loved it! We learned so much about the plague in London, the great fire, locations affected, we visited plague pits, we learned about living conditions at the time, and about people who managed to save lives with their forward thinking. When we return in the future, we’ll definitely book more tours with them. Such nice, respectful guides with great personalities. The One of a kind Sherlock Holmes tour of a lifetime!!
Wow!! Where we can even BEGIN to describe the experience of a very special Sherlock Holmes Walking tour (In Stephen's own words)!! We have been fans of Sherlock Holmes fiction for more than half a century now; and it was a lifetime's dream that came true with Stephen and his Company Ye Olde England Tours. Stephen arranged a one of a kind Holmes tour focused on the classic Granada TV series and the books!! And for 3+ hours we were transported to the world of Sherlock Holmes as of it were early to mid 1900's. We could write an entire journal on those 3 hours..... Stephen deserves a medal!! He is an absolute FOUNTAIN of historical knowledge and inspite of that - extremely humble, kind and generous!! No detail was too small; no building/location went unspoken about.... We were also taken around locations associated with other great classical writers like HG Wells, Rudyard Kipling and George Orwell! 5 stars is not enough!!. Whichever tour is organized or led by Stephen is guaranteed to be of the highest quality and value for money. Imagine - we even had the GREATEST luck to have a photograph with a real detective at the original Scotland Yard!! Hidden Gardens
We had the joy of meeting Kevin our guide, who in turn showed us so much more than multiple hidden gardens within the downtown city limits of London. Wow! We had a Dickens of a time!
Stephen is a most remarkable guide. He has a positive, upbeat, personality and laughs readily. He has an amazing amount of information at his fingertips, which he shared in a friendly and engaging fashion throughout the tour. He is passionate about what he does.
