This is a locations tour for Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho thriller. We will visit almost all the locations from this great film. We’ll see some of the real life glamorous neon light filled locations, some of the more grim spots and see how some clever movie magic brought locations to life.
There aren’t many films that get London just right but Last Night in Soho does because Edgar Wright spent years in this neighbourhood, just like we have…. I’ve been studying and working here since 1993 in fact they even used my college library as a location in the film although they pretend it is elsewhere!
Soho is the beating heart of London, one of the most creative places in the world but it is a place where glitz and glamour meet grime and as the film shows, there is just a hint of danger in these old streets and squares. Countless music, film and television production companies can be found behind anonymous dusty old doors but you don’t have to use much imagination to see how it was back in the 60’s or indeed 90’s when it was the seediest place in London.
Just some of the places we will visit are Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket, Cafe De Paris, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Soho Square (home to the biggest icon of the 60’s who is still there today), Railto Revue Dancing Girls Club where Jack takes Sandy, the clothes shop where Ellie has her flashback. The old Irish pub with a long real-life history, the student dormitory where Ellie lives in upon arrival in London and last but not least, the creepy home of Mrs Collins who is of course played by the legendary Diana Rigg in her last film role.
Join us and Ellie as we head back to the Swinging Sixties and explore modern day Soho like a local. See the restaurants, pubs, cafes as we walk down lanes and alleys 500 years old. It is the 24/7 heartbeat of London and you just don’t know who you might meet… or when!
