Jack The Ripper Daytime Tour

Why a daytime tour with us?

The Jack The Ripper Daytime Tour will transport you back to the dark and chilling world of the Whitechapel Murders in East London.  We will follow in the footsteps of the notorious and never completely identified Jack The Ripper. As far as we can tell, are the only tour that visits not just the location of every canonical Jack murder scene. In our tour we will alo visit several other key sites because like all our other tours, this is a private tour just for you and not a big crowd of people.

Perhaps a night tour might sound the norm but you go round in big groups of 30-50 people. How much can you hear? Will you really see much much? How creepy can it be with 4 or 5 large groups all fighting to get to the very same spots… as they don’t and can’t go to the places we do with just you. If you don’t believe me, check with the men and women of the NYPD, Chicago and even Londons own Metropolitan Police Department who have enjoyed this special tour. Also we’ve also been used by TV producers too who have made some top shows you may have seen.

During the autumn of 1888, Jack The Ripper murdered, at least, five women. There were also several other horrendous killings before and afterwards that may or may not have been carried out at the hands of the man voted The Worst Briton of All Time.

The more things change….

Whitechapel has changed a lot in the 135 years. In 1888 Jack by luck, deviousness and opportunity wrought terror in the middle of the biggest city in the world. We all know that Jack escaped time after time but do you know how often he came close to being caught?  Whilst things have changed much remains the same too and we will visit the landmarks of Whitechapel; the pubs that both Jack and his victims frequented. We will explore the lanes and alleyways where Jack stalked his victims. You’ll have the chance to stand on the spots of some of these dastardly crimes.  In the Jack The Ripper Daytime Tour we will visit the place where he left his only clues.

Some of the murder locations we will visit on the Jack The Ripper Daytime Tour.
Murder Most Foul – Whitechapel Style

As well walking in the footsteps of history, we will learn about the myths and truths of Jack The Ripper. Discover the awful social conditions that the poor and ladies of Whitechapel had to survive in.

Our private Jack The Ripper Daytime Tour can meet you at your hotel or convenient tube station . We will all then either travel to Whitechapel or alternatively we can meet at Whitechapel Tube Station. Either way we will soon be treading the cobblestones of the East End of London.

Our tour is especially for those of you who want to do something different in London and don’t fancy walking Whitechapel at night or in a large group.

More than just a Jack The Ripper Tour

You’ll learn what living in the East End was like in those days and visit what remains of Dorset Street. It is pivotal to the Jack The Ripper story, once the worst street in London and so bad that it now barely exists at all.  Learn of the awful conditions that the residents, women and men alike had to endure.  Discover the lucky breaks that Jack had. We will also hear the misconceptions that the Police had of what the world’s first and still most feared serial killer would be like.  Some of the buildings have changed; a few of the streets may have new names, but the horror remains!

Following in the footsteps of Jack The Ripper.
In the London of 1888, no-one can hear you scream.

I’ve studied Jack The Ripper for over 40 years and lived in London for even longer.  As a historian and not just a guide I’ll make the tour come alive could raise the hair on the back of your necks or not. As it is a private tour, it all depends on how you like your walks!   It’s a totally un-rushed and personalised Jack The Ripper Daytime Tour that can show you a side of London’s famous East End that most Londoners never get to see, let alone tourists.

I went on a Jack the Ripper tour with Stephen on Halloween. I learnt so much more than I expected; about the murders and the environment the poor women were living in. Communication from Stephen from first enquiry to the day of the tour was faultless. He was on time and easy to find at our meeting place. I thoroughly enjoyed Stephens company and would recommend him for a few hours or a week! Thanks Stephen.
